~Kindergarten~

Shaela's first day of kindergarten was August 8, 2008. She is so excited to go to school. She has her days when she misses mom but she comes home with some pretty cute stories about what happened that day. She has made new friends and has even made the Principals 200 club. This is a club that you have to earn. If a teacher sees you helping another student without being asked then they can turn your name in to the principal. She was so exited the day she helped a boy in her class get his lunch opened. Aparently he had hurt his arm and couldn't open his capri sun. So the little helper Shaela is opened it for him. Her teacher saw her helping him and turned her name in. There is a big poster outside of the office that has the names of the kids in this club. Her name is on bone #154 (she is a Safford Bulldog so they used bones to put the names on). She got to pick the number and is so proud.

All is great with us and hope everything is great with all of you!!

Love,

~Brian, Tara & Shaela

July 4th, 2008

For the 4th of July Charlotte and I decided to be brave and take the kids to Heber without our husbands. Brian was on call and couldn't be that far away from the mountain and Shane had to work. Looking back I really think we must have been crazy. Mom and Dad were up there to help us once we made it to Heber. However the drive was a little crazy. With Shaela, Jaxin and Jerrit all in one car for 4 hours straight was definitely an interesting ordeal. We all had tons of fun, at the parade we all got soaked and Jerrit is such a funny little boy he kept us all entertained. We went to the ball fields to watch the fireworks. My moms cousin Steve thought it was a good idea to buy all the kids light up swords. I am not so sure that was one of his better ideas, but luckily no one got hurt by the swinging swords. The worst part of the trip was on the way home. We left Heber and just as we got into the mountains on the way to Payson it was bumper to bumper traffic. I thought there was an accident but there wasn't one. It was just all the people trying to get back to the valley after the weekend in the mountains. What would normally take about 45 min from Heber to Payson took us 2 hours. So it made the trip be 6 hours instead of 4. Lucky for us Mom & Dad took the kids in their truck from Roosevelt Lake the rest of the way home. All in all we had a great weekend. Thanks Aunt Kathy and Uncle Gene for letting us stay in your yard.

June in Missouri

We flew to Missouri for Rob and April Gardners wedding June 7, 2008. We had so much fun hanging out with them. The wedding was beautiful with their pond as the backdrop, and Elvis stopped by the reception to sing a few songs. Shaela wasn't real sure about him. She told her dad "that guy is weird!" While we were there we went to an amusement park called Worlds of Fun. Shaela was still a little to short to ride a lot of the rides, so we will have to go back when she gets a little taller. While we were there Rob taught Brian how to use a smoker so when we got back Brian went down and bought one. The food is great!!!!

Easter 2008

For Easter we went to my sister-in-laws dad's house to hunt Easter eggs. The kids had so much fun. The Easter bunny also hides a little present for each of the kids around the yard. Shaela got a My little pet shop electronic pet. My brothers kids got kites so went to a grass field and flew kites for a while. It was a fun relaxing day that we all enjoyed.
